Thank you, Melissa.

We will celebrate Melissa Jean Schlag’s ambitious, passionate life as a public servant, tireless environmental advocate, and loving friend at Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam on Sunday, October 18th from 2-3pm. Eagle Landing State Park was near and dear to Melissa as she lead others in a protest to save it from being swapped for a lesser parcel to a private developer. People are welcome to sign the memory book and sit in their own lawn chairs to listen or to share memories of Melissa. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have obtained a permit from the State DEEP to use this park for this event. We can gather up to 150 people, but we must keep proper social distance and wear a mask if we are less than 6 feet away from people in our own household. Please bring and use your own pen to sign the memory book. If you would like to sit, please bring your own lawn chair and keep six feet away from people who are not in your own family or household. We will provide a microphone that will remain on its stand if you would like to share a few words. Thank you.
